  • Mi Ae Kim

    Mi Ae Kim

    Korea

    Mi Ae Kim worked at Hewlett-Packard Korea for 8 years as an in-house counsel until recently. At Hewlett-Packard, she covered various legal aspects such as privacy, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property rights, anti-trust law, and labor law. She led several thousands of contracts negotiations with customers and gained experience in fair trade law through dealing with globally newsworthy cases from the Korea Fair Trade Committee. While working in the Compliance Office at HP, Mi Ae became interested in the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and ethics practices of her company, so she decided to pursue further study in the U.S. Before starting her professional career, Mi Ae earned Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees from Sook-Myung Women's University. In 1998 she obtained a Bachelors degree in Economics from Eastern Oregon University. Mi Ae is now interested in U.S. business and corporation law and hopes to contribute to the conduct of complex international business and legal risk control.

  • Sarah Arndt

    Sarah Arndt

    Germany

    Sarah Arndt started her law studies at the University of Bayreuth where she attended an English program for German lawyers including courses in torts law and an introduction to the Common Law legal system. In 2003 she continued her studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, where her main focus was International Law. Sarah passed her Second State Examination in November 2008 before the State Examination Office for Lawyers in Mainz with a main focus in Business Law. During her two year rotational traineeship, she worked for the civil court in Altenkirchen and the criminal court in Koblenz and for international law firms such as Buse Heberer Fromm and KPMG, both in Frankfurt am Main. There she gained practical experience in International Contract Drafting, Fraud and Taxation. Additionally, Sarah worked for several law chairs at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz as well as for a law coach for nearly one year. After finishing the LL.M. program with a focus in Business and Corporate Law, she plans to take the New York Bar exam. Sarah currently serves as an elected Student Bar Association (SBA) Representative of her LL.M. class at USC Law.
